The 2011 OSEA Conference will be held at the Red Lion on the River from June 23-25, 2011.  The theme for this year’s Conference is “TLC: Teach the present, Learn from the past, Change the future.”

To prepare for Conference
What to do
There are certain tasks each chapter must complete in preparation for Conference. Click on the words “What to do” for a detailed list of what your chapter must do in order to prepare.

Selecting chapter delegates
Be sure to read the important information at the “Selecting chapter delegates” link regarding the proper procedure for selecting chapter delegates.

Conference registration form
All Conference delegates must register with the State Office before Conference. Registration forms will be sent to chapter presidents/secretaries in April 2011.

Conference meals
OSEA has arranged, in coordination with the Red Lion, a meal package that members can register for which alleviates the need for finding or preparing meals between Conference sessions. However there are restaurants nearby in the case of special circumstances.

Resolutions
Any OSEA member may advocate to modify, change or create governance documents by submitting a resolution. OSEA members who volunteer and serve on the OSEA Resolutions/Constitution Committee process all submitted resolutions. The committee studies the resolutions and advises Conference delegates as to the effect the resolutions would have.

Resolution submission form
In order to submit a resolution to be considered at Conference, you must turn in a submission form by Feb. 1.

Conference bags
For those of you who have received the Conference registration confirmation postcard, you’ve noticed that there was a note about bringing your own bags from years past. To clarify, there will be bags available for anyone who would like one, we just ask that members bring their own bags as we are trying to cut costs and preserve resources. Thank you!
